Gov Sheriff bags 2008 Health Award

Governor Ali Modu Sheriff of Borno State has added another feather to his numerous achievements

This time around, the governor is to be honoured with an International Award by Healthcare Communications Limited Lagos, a non-governmental organization, based in the country.

The good tiding was announced in a statement issued and signed by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Alhaji Usman Chiroma, in Maiduguri.
In the statement, a copy of which was made available to National Daily it was disclosed that the governor would be conferred with the award at the Nigerian Institute of International Affairs, Victoria Island Lagos.

In a confirmation letter nominating the governor, the Managing Director and Chief Executive of the Healthcare Communications Limited, Dr. Bola Olaosebikan said ‘’ Sheriff’s approach to healthcare delivery services is unparallel in the country and informed the move by the organization to award him in recognition.’’

The letter added: ‘’The unprecedented achievements recorded in the health sector of the state, especially, the construction of newly Ultra- Modern General Hospitals in Bulumkutu, the Sate Capital Maiduguri, Bayo and Askira-Uba towns of the state under the ANPP-led administration are a reference point to other states of the federation.’’
