NACCIMA honours Ogunbanjo, Yusuf
IN recognition of their innumerable contributions to the growth and development
of the Association, humanity and the Nigerian economy over the years, the
Nigerian Association of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture
(NACCIMA) recently honoured Chief (Dr.) Chris Ogunbanjo, as its Patron and
Alhaja Toyibat Yusuf Adeniji as Honourary Life Vice President respectively.
Even as the organisation vowed to continue to maintain its leadership position
in the Organised Private Sector (OPS) by way of being at the forefront on
every joint action with Manufacturers Association of Nigeria (MAN), Nigeria
Employers' Consultative Association (NECA) Nigerian Small Scale Industrialists
(NASSI) and Nigerian Association of Small and Medium Enterprise (NASME) in
promoting the business interest of Nigerian operators within the country and
in the international community.
The Association's President, Dr. Ignatius Adaji said the investiture on the
two eminent Nigerians is in recognition of their immense contributions to
the growth and development of the Association, the Chambers of Commerce Movement
and humanity.
Adaji said the totality of Nigerian will continued to remember and appreciate
the contributions they had made into the economy of the country especially
their free enterprise and private initiative philosophy.
The Association according to him has designed a project called business participation
in legislative process to increase the level of participation of the Nigeria
business community in legislative process by monitoring proceedings in the
National Assembly through legislative assistants who monitors debates on the
floor of the Assembly most especially Draft Bills that affect business and
the economy and passing relevant information to the business community to
enhance their participation.
In his acceptance speech, Dr. Chris Ogunbanjo, said the honour done him by
the association was unparalleled as it reminds him of his days in the chamber
of commerce movement and promised to continue to support the movement.
Similarly in her remarks, Alhaja Toyibat Yusuf Adeniji said she was overwhelmed
by the honour due to her companies' participation in the chamber of commerce
movement which was borne out of quest to contribute in strengthening business
associations and in pursuit of increasing the patronage in made in Nigeria.
