Project Fame West Africa unveiled

ONE of the popular reality TV shows in more than 15 countries of the world, Project Fame has been unveiled by the youth brand of telecommunication giants MTN Xtra Cool.

The event which took place at Planet One Entertainment witnessed a well attended launch where the Chief Marketing and Customers Relations Officer of MTN Xtra Cool, Mr. Bola Akingbode revealed that MTN was bringing the show to the teeming Nigerian youths to meet their passion area.

“Music correctly taps into their passion points hence the need to provide them with world class cutting edge music property that meets the needs and aspirations of this dynamic segment,” he said.

Project Fame which had Nigeria's Dare Art Alade becoming a first runner up in the 2004 edition of the show in South Africa, provides a platform where 16 young aspiring people are selected and trained in the act of music performance. They are housed in an academy for a period of three months where they are trained by leading music experts on what it takes to become a top rated musician.

The students will be given the opportunity meet and perform alongside their favourite stars who would be conducting exclusive master-classes to share their wisdom and tips to becoming successful musicians.

A jury will put up four students who do not make the grades will be put on probation and the teachers will vote to save the student.

The show will be presented by Project Fame proteegee, Dare Art Alade and will be aired six days a week for the period the show will last.

The winner of the show will be entitled to some prize money and a brand new car.
Performances by Rooftop MCs, 9ice, Tushortz and Ruggedman who compeered the event thrilled the audience that came for the unveil while MTN graciously handed out prizes to some journalists that came for the event.
