Lady I storms Lagos

• Vows to promote Nigerian Music

AFTER 30 years in Daytona Beach, Volusia County, Florida, United States, an Akwa-Ibom state presenter, Ima Ikon Jackson a.k.a. Lady I, has committed to helping Nigerian musicians to make a difference.

She made the promise shortly after her arrival in Lagos for a week-long working visit.
Expressing appreciation towards the works and performances of Nigerian musicians, which, she said, was already being accepted internationally, Lady I promised to accommodate their songs in her programme on “International Rhythm Train” on WPUL 1590 AM.

“My aim is to promote our Nigerian music; there is no reason why our music should not expand beyond Nigerian boundaries,” she said.

Stating her interest in music, she simply puts it that “music is life and through music you convey a lot of messages.”

A graduate of University of Central Florida where she acquired a Bachelor of Art Degree in 1997, Associate of Art Degree in Criminal Justice from Daytona Beach Community College in 1996, Lady I said her interest in music stemmed from the belief that ''music is life and through music you convey a lot of messages.''

A radio programmer and broadcaster, Lady I said she '' has professionally devoted her life in serving the public in different humanitarian gestures.''.

While in Nigeria, Lady I said she intended '' to work out modalities with the Performing Musicians Association of Nigeria (PMAN).''
“I shall also be paying courtesy visit to the PMAN chapter in Akwa Ibom state,'' she said.
Lady I has since returned to her base in Florida, USA.
