'Inter to win competition’

FORMER Fiorentina and Italy star Giancarlo Antognoni believes that Jose Mourinho and Inter have got what it takes to win the Champions League this season.

Expectations are high at Appiano Gentile and so is confidence this season as the Nerazzurri try and attempt to bring home the European Cup after 43 years.

Antognoni is full of praise for the ‘Special One’ and his side and he believes the former Chelsea man will bring Inter chief Massimo Moratti the trophy he craves most.

“I have been following Mourinho for some time and I have seen he is working well,”said Antognoni.
“He is a modern coach and he likes to base his play on offensive football.

“I think Inter will do great this season, they have a good squad and they are the team to beat.
“I believe they can win the Scudetto and they will be playing for the Champions League.
“I think Mourinho is used to playing in the big competitions and I believe that this will be their year for glory in Europe.”

The Beneamata begin their Champions League adventures this week against Panathinaikos.
