Benitez salutes valiant Reds
RAFA Benitez paid tribute to the quality and character of his Liverpool side
following the 2-1 victory over Manchester United. The Reds fell behind after
just three minutes when Carlos Tevez scored but levelled through a Wes Brown
own goal.
Ryan Babel then completed the turnaround with a strike on 77 minutes and Benitez
was delighted with the way Liverpool controlled the game as it went on.
"It was really good," Benitez told Sky Sports 1. "We conceded
an early goal but after we showed character and we were on top against a good
team with quality.
"We were working really hard and in the second half we were the best
team.
"We were doing a good job in the first half but we wanted to win so we
spoke about confidence and determination (at half-time).”
