NBC Benin in full operation

•As coca-cola introduces new product packaging

NIGERIAN Bottling Company Plc, bottlers of Coca-Cola products, and one of the largest employers of labour in Nigeria, has restated its commitment to expand its investment in Nigeria. The company, which has invested over N15billion in the country in the last three years, has also expanded its product portfolio, opened a new ultra modern plant in Abuja, and modernized most of its other plants across Nigeria, including the Benin plant.

The NBC plant in Benin is in full operation and remains a strategic plant in the company's rapid investment in Nigeria. Contrary to a report in This Day newspaper on Friday 29th August, 2008, the NBC plant in Benin has not been shut down. The Head of Public Affairs and Communication for NBC, Mrs Yanju Olomola, stated that, NBC Benin is running at full steam and continues to produce Coca-Cola range of carbonated soft drinks and Five Alive juice flavours to world class standards. “We are proud of the Benin Plant as it was modeled after the best plants in the world. The plant has been vital in meeting the growing demands of our products in Nigeria”

The company's Head of Public Affairs and Communication further noted that “today's market place is an ever changing arena. Consumers are demanding greater variety, impeccable product quality and increased availability. We are glad to note that we have been responding promptly to the taste and needs of our discerning and extremely loyal consumers”.

“In our continued efforts to meet the ever changing preferences of consumers, we have introduced a range of new products and packages. Beginning of this year, we introduced the ideal on-the-go package Cans into the market for our carbonated soft drinks. The range of products available in this package was expanded in May to include Diet Coke and Schweppes Bitter Lemon. In June, we re-launched the Five Alive juice brand. Retaining the unique blend of five different fruits which give it the great uncommon taste, Five Alive is now available in four different flavours in new exciting and colourful packages strongly linked to each flavour. The new package also has a more convenient easier to open and close red screw cap.

In August, Eva water was also re-launched in a trendy new package. The new Eva bottle is clear with an easy grip contour shape and a new label design to further boost the brand's appeal to consumers.
