Akaraka fiesta beckons

THE fourth edition of AKARAKA cultural festival has been slated for November 20 29 this year at Enugu.
The Nine days event will showcase ladies of the Igbo extraction exhibiting the Igbo culture in its true nature.
According to Eze [Dr] Ngozi Ibekwe the event has the support of the five stae governments in the South Eastern part of the country.

He said that apart from display of culture, there will be traditional dance and masquerade, arts and fashion display, Akaraka lecture and awards and lastly Adadigbo beauty pageant.

Ibekwe explained further that the winner of the show is expected to win a brand new car and $4,000.
It is noteworthy that the first edition of the event took place at Owerri in 2005 while the second while the second show took place in Port- Harcourt and the third in Lagos last year.
