Adeniyi Initiate of cult of liars

Adeniyi Initiate of cult of liars

By ODIMEGWU ONWUMERE

IN his days at Thisday newspapers, Mr. Olusegun Adeniyi was an editor of incalculable integrity. He was among the fearless and brave hearts-writers or human or social critics, who embraced the problems of the populace dearly to their hearts and solved them on the pages of newspapers, asking those who they were their duty to help matter. He hated singing the praise of the government and was against the journalism of brown envelop. Many Nigerians liked reading his write-ups because he was not suffering fools gladly. The contents of his articles were bombshells. He was tall with the truth and was always opening the windows of happiness to many frail Nigerians because of his articles.

But like the process of aiding or speeding up chemical process by a substance that does not itself undergo any change, Adeniyi is now pernicious to the same Nigerian populace he was in the forefronts defending since he was made or appointed Spokesman to the president. A job one would not fail to ask if such office like Adeniyi's was orchestrated to be misleading people with peripheral information as wont Adeniyi, leaving the interim.

Like most people wouldn't accede to any government appointments because of their stand for humanity in the area of their calling, Adeniyi accepted his, being the President's Spokesman, with the view that one cant be outside the rooms of power to dictate the pace of the political pipers, like the Nigerian politicians. One has to be inside the rooms of power. Perhaps what Adeniyi did not understand before accepting that Greek Gift was that all governments are a dangerous cult of liars, very envious of the belief of the people they rule.

The social critic Adeniyi were is today not the same. Adeniyi has become government's sycophant, who unleash misleading and malicious stories about the president to the Nigerian masses, in defense of his job or the president? Nigerians have seen that now and before the president was alleged to be sick. But is this not the same Adeniyi whom the populace cheered, for his appointment at the presidency?

It is saddening today that Adeniyi has followed the tirade of change and now he is drowned by the murky waters of Nigerian politics by exhibiting expertise in lies, camouflaging innocent, which is the worst forms of crime against humanity. Adeniyi, because of his prowess in the use of pen, was to be President Spokesman like a large building or buildings fortified against attack?

Adeniyi has castrated morality and preferred infecting the general sensibility of the Nigerian populace who looked up to him for direction in the profound truth, with disease of falsehood in which Nigerians suffering from Adeniyi's misleading stories have lost consciousness. Adeniyi was supposed to be a catalogue, but he has preferred to be a special disorder of the people. He is a catalogue to the president, who brings willing consciousness of the Nigerian people to disagreement.

This disagreement the falsehoods of Adeniyi is causing Nigeria, which have made many Nigerians become mentally sub-normal, is the application of yellow journalism into an office which was supposed to be un-tainted; which was supposed to be a haven of truth about the president.

It's in Nigeria that politicians tend to die for politics and their parties than the “common” Nigerians they are supposed to die for. Imagine the swift our own Adeniyi has become a changed man!
Nigerians always hear harangue of politicians which sounds truthful, but such harangue is the façade as the voice of Jacob but the flesh of Esau. And Adeniyi doesn't exhibit his envied wisdom like the biblical King Solomon, but like the worldly Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, who used his envied mandate of eight years in power, as the president of the Federal republic of Nigeria , to be scuttling, not for the betterment of Nigeria , but against his political foes, for the betterment of his office.

Adeniyi was supposed to be a harbinger to the masses like the crowing of the cock is a sign of dawn. But he rather preferred not to trail suicide by disembowelment as practiced in the past by Japanese men when they believed they had failed in their duty

Adeniyi has failed the belief and trust Nigerians had in him. He is now inspired by the love of money. He is now working only for the love of money or other reward. He can be called a mercenary. His merciless acts of misleading information only portend menace: menace of the Nigeria peace, stability and tranquility.
