WBC Heavyweight bout: Bring on Klitschko now –Peter

CHAMPION Samuel Peter says he can no longer wait to take on Vitali Klitschko less than two weeks to their World Boxing Council Heavyweight title fight in Berlin, Germany.

The camps of both boxers have been engaged in a verbal war since two months ago when their long awaited confrontation was confirmed by the promoters.
Peter, fondly dubbed 'Nigerian Nightmare', has since relocated from his American base to Freiburg, Germany, where he is building up for the fight.

"I’m still the WBC heavyweight champion of the world. I don’t know what gives him (Klitschko) a right to step in my spotlight. We have a very big fight coming up on October 11th. I’m ready, ready to go.
"I’ve never given up on any fight. In 2001, I never stopped a fight. I thank God for that. Anybody who wants to fight Samuel Peter, I’m ready for you. But I don’t know what gives him a right to step in my heavenly," Peter said at a forum put together for the two gladiators ahead of the fight.

Klitschko retorted that he was not afraid to face Peter, particularly in Germany where the Ukrainean claimed he has a large followership. But Peter was quick to dismiss the subtle threat.

"He’s from Ukraine. Freiburg is my city. I have taken over. I will take over wherever I go. I told him already I take over wherever I go. We always take over. We’re always ready all the time. Your people will be my people. You never know," enthused the Nigerian. If successful on October 11, Klitschko will join his younger brother Wladimir at the top of the heavyweight division, making them the only siblings in history to hold world heavyweight title belts simultaneously. Wladimir is the current International Boxing Federation (IBF), World Boxing Organization (WBO) and International Boxing Organization (IBO) champ.
