Eto'o relishes current form
SAMUEL Eto'o has stated that he cannot be expected to be the same player
as he was three years ago, but believes that his current form will see him
score plenty of goals.
The Cameroonian international was reacting to the fact that he is suddenly
seen as a great player again after finding his scoring boots to reach a century
of goals.
After the opening couple of games of the season some people were asking why
he had not scored and questioned whether he was he could be as good as he
was when Barça won the title and Champions League under Frank Rijkaard.
"I am Eto'o of this year and I feel great. The injuries are behind me,
physically I am in good shape, and I will score or not score," he told
reporters.
"I will not be the Eto'o of three seasons ago because I am now three
years aolder, but I am still Eto'o with the same desire to win and the same
desire to help the team.
"I always knew that I would start scoring again because there are always
chances to score in this term.
"What is important now is to work hard and help my team-mates. There
are goals in this team and there always will be.”
