Sound City wins Glo Rock ‘n’ Rule account
GLOBACOM has picked Consolidated Media Associates, owner of Soundcity, to
handle the production and transmission of its forthcoming mega musical concert
and beauty pageant, Rock ‘n’ Rule, which is set to rock 18 major
cities across the country.
Soundcity’s presentation to Glo, according to top officials of the leading
telecoms company, met Globacom’s rigorous and pragmatic demands for
top quality production of sound and visuals of key element s of the nationwide
event. “Their presentation was the best out of all the production houses
we screened for the project”, said a Glo official.
As part of the deal, Soundcity is expected to deploy its production expertise
to bring home to all Nigerians, the essentials and highlights of the event
from each of the 18 cities to be covered by the tour. The event has been packaged
to search for Mr Rock ‘n’ Rule and Miss Rock ‘n’ Rule.
It will also have the cream of Nigerian and Ghanaian artistes rocking with
Nigerian youths in the selected cities.
D’Banj, Sunny Nneji, Sammy Okposo, Pasuma Wonder, Ego, Original Stereoman,
Mode 9, May7ven Sunny Danja, Basketmouth, Okey Bakassi, DJ Jimmy Jatt and
Ghanaian music diva, Becca and top Ghanaian artiste, Van Vicker have been
lined up to provide high class entertainment and fun for residents in the
cities to be covered. These cities include Benin , Abuja , Port Harcourt ,
Asaba, Enugu , Jos, Lagos , Awka, Kaduna , Calabar, Owerri, Lokoja, Uyo, Akure,
Umuahia, Makurdi, Ibadan and Ilorin .
Soundcity will produce edited versions of the event in each city for broadcast
across its network of 10 partner TV stations in the country. The stations
include AIT Network of stations, LTV 8, MITV, Plateau State TV, Bauchi State
TV, Kwara State TV, Enugu State TV, Kwara TV, ITV Benin and Edo Broadcasting
TV.
