Hits 10-city to raise funds for children with HIV/AIDS, Sicklers

SOJOURNING Nigerian Reggae Star, Majek Fashek, stole into the country last week to commence a 10 city musical tour aimed amongst others things to raise money for Nigerian children struck with sickle cell anemia and HIV/AIDS.

The tour which kicked off in Benin City last Friday is put together by a Texas based company owned by a Nigerian; E.J & Associates and is expected to take the Rainmaker to Benin, Warri, Port Harcourt, Calabar and Yenogoa.

Other cities also slated to be touched include Jos, Abuja, Enugu, Kaduna and Lagos.
Majek Fashek told Citytracker that the current tour is also to enable him re-introduce himself and his works into the Nigerian market.

Rainmaker Majek Fashek, was once the biggest revelation in the Nigerian music industry.
He earned the name; “Prisoner of Conscience”, being the title of his debut effort in his hay days.
He became the first African artiste to be signed on to Interscope Records. Same company that handles the works of such big stars as 50 Cent and others.

But the contract suffered a hic up as it was terminated by the company mid-way for reasons that still remain foggy till date.

This homecoming will be the musicians first after so many years.
