Nigeria to host World Miss Photogenic pageant

COME July 2008, the world will stand at attention as Nigeria hosts the first edition of World Miss Photogenic pageant. The show a photogenic beauty search competition that is set to unveil young ladies in the modeling industry, will be held in the country courtesy of Gifted G.C International Ltd, an exclusive firm that has a good pedigree in handling entertainment events around the world.

According to the organizer and coordinator of the pageant, Mr. Chris Opara, the event will be the first of its kind and would have contestants from around the world contesting in the pageant.
'This event which we are putting together, is going to be first of its kind in Nigeria, and we are sure it is going to offer the best opportunities in terms of photography and modeling,” he said.

Already, a sizeable number of hopeful contestants have indicated interest in the country and also from more than 10 countries that include the United States of America, United Kingdom, Canada, South Africa, Australia and so on.

Okpara explained that the pageant is open to contestants from the whole world in order to meet the standards of the event being a world class one but hopefully, further editions of the show will be held in the respective countries of participation before a final World Miss photogenic is chosen.
Open to young ladies between the ages of 17- 18 years of age who aspire to be top modeling queens, World Miss Photogenic contest will offer some mouth watering prizes for the eventual winner which includes a brand new Honda Civic car, the winner will be voted for by the public through SMS; a return ticket to Paris, one of the most photogenic cities in the world. $10, 000 prize money, pocket money, appearance in four international magazines, two years modeling contract worth $60,000 and an appearance in a catalogue featuring 100 most photogenic ladies in the world. A compensatory free booklet about How To Be A Photogenic Model will be made available to every participant.

Okpara said that the pageants aims at promoting, celebrating and rewarding photogenic beauties around the world as well as promoting photogenic modeling as a unique career.

The pageant will also help to create a photo database from which photogenic models can be selected by individual or corporate bodies for modeling jobs.
