Owing to big businesses, training, and exposure expected and sometimes acquired by local agencies through their global affiliates, a number of lost accounts are met with trepidation on the part of the local agency, as regards their success without an affiliate. A recent acquiring of the Air Bartel African Account by Ogilvy Worldwide, has transceded to their local Agency Prima Garnet Nigeria, a fact that probably left some of the last account holders wishing things were different. In a recent interview with NCHEDO OKEKE, the CEO of Saatchi and Saatchi, Asia, Middle East and Africa, Mr Francis Simon, intimates that often times, creativity and hard work needs to work with the goodwill of being affiliates, for greater success to be achieved in the industry. Nokia Highlights Dangers of Counterfeit Products at China Tour
CONTRARY to the general impression that all mobile devices manufactured in China are substandard, Nokia has declared that this is far from the truth.
The Head of Government Affairs for Nokia Middle East and Africa, Jussi Hinkkanen made this known during a media tour of Nokia's manufacturing facility in China recently. The plant is one of Nokia's nine manufacturing facilities across the world and Hinkkanen says the phones produced there undergo the same stringent quality controls and tests that have made Nokia the world's leading brand in mobile devices.

Following what most would have tagged a disappointing outing at the last International advertising Festival, Cannes Lion, Advertising Agencies in Nigeria under the auspices of Association of Advertising Agencies of Nigeria, AAAN, are reloading this years edition of their yearly creativity award, Lagos Advertising and Ideas Festival, LAIF, in a bid to making it bigger, better, more challenging and more poised to compete with international standards, and ensure greater recognition globally. It was an opportunity also for members of AAAN to speak for themselves on the issue of their relevance to world creativity level.
