Lady Ohakim set to launch pet project
PLANS are underway to launch the pet project of Lady Chioma Ohakim tagged:
'' Empowerment for Women and Youth Initiative,'' which is designed to address
the needs of women and youths in Imo State.
The wife of Governor Ikedi Ohakim made the disclosure during the formal launch
of Women and Youth Empowerment Foundation (WAYEF) in Abuja initiated by the
wife of Nigeria's President, Hajiya Turai Yar'Adua.
She disclosed that the two-day workshop organised by Yar'Adua to teach wives
of Governors on how to package pet projects to outlive their office and be
relevant to the people was very timely as it had given them enough information
and exposure.
Ohakim said the workshop had afforded her the opportunity of having an insight
into how to properly package her pet project to make it beneficial to people
at the grassroots.
She identified the National Women Coalition on AIDS (NAWOCA) and Youth Empowerment
Foundation (WAYEF) as initiatives by Yar'Adua all geared towards improving
living conditions of women, youths, and children in the country.
