Failed contractors to face govt wrath

ANY contractor who fails to deliver at the appropriate time in Anambra State will face the wrath of the government.

This is part of the efforts being made to ensure that roads under construction in the state are completed on schedule.

A warning to this effect was handed down by the state Commissioner for Works, Sir Callistus Ilozumba.
Speaking in Awka, the commissioner said the government focus on the completion of all existing road contracts was also ''to ensure that those in terrible state of disrepair are reconstructed and made passable.''
He pleaded with the citizenry to bear with the government.

The commissioner frowned at the slow pace of work on the dualisaion of Zik Avenue and Arthur Eze Avenue in Awka.

Insisting that the deadline for the two projects remained December 3, he expressed the hope that the contacting firm, RCC, ''will deliver within the time frame, or face the wrath of the state government.''
He assured that the government ''will leave no stone unturned in taking some aggressive construction measures to fix some bad roads in Awka for use.''
