Govt to partner with investors on movie industry
From NWADIKE UGOCHUKWU;Port Harcourt
RIVERS State Government is ready to partner with entrepreneurs willing to
invest in the non oil sectors.
This is aimed at diversifying the economy of the State, the Commissioner for
Information Mr. Ogbonna Nwuke, has stated.
He was addressing members of the Paul and Silas Foundation, led by Mr. John
Okafor (aka Common Man), who presented an award of excellence to him in his
office in Port Harcourt.
He told the delegation that the state government was prepared to partner with
investors in the entertainment industry to find a better future for the people.
“We will be prepared to partner with Paul and Silas Foundation to find
a better future outside the oil industry because oil has driven the economy
for sometime but I believe time has come to diversify, and that is why people
like you need to be encouraged by all,'' he said.
He advised practitioners in the movie industry to take advantage of the natural
endowments in the state for location of film production sites, pointing out
that the government was doing a lot to make the state safe for all.
