United States honour Sonny Okosuns

ACCOLADES and recognition have been flowing the late Ozzidi Music maestro, Evangelist Sunny Okusuns as many individuals and institutions show appreciation for his struggle to liberate the African continent from oppression, apartheid and slavery. The latest addition is from a frontline African- American socialist group, African Liberation Forum (ALF) which is based in the United States of America (USA).

The Fire In Soweto music maker was given a post-humus award in far away United States for his invaluable contribution to freedom for Africans in Africa and Africans in the Diaspora.

The Lifetime Award, according to Charles Okosun, immediate younger brother to the African Soldier witnessed a Lying- In- State on June 20,2008 in Washington, District of Columbia which is the U.S capital.

"Infact, all the African musical groups in 52 states in the United States turned out en-masse in honour of Sonny Okosuns. The African musical groups jammed in a tribute concert for Ozziddi king as a mark of respect for an African Legend and Hero", stated Charles.

The post-humus award was collected by Sydney, a son to the African music icon and the wife of the music philosopher.
All arrangements are in top gear in Nigeria by the Federal Government, Edo State and Enugu State Governments towards giving the great Ambassador of Esanland a befitting state burial. . His remains is expected to arrive the country by the 30th of June this year.
