Unity Bank Plc promises to assist NFC
UNITY Bank Plc has promised to assist the Management of the Nigerian Film
Corporation (NFC) to realize its mandate and objectives especially those that
directly promotes the development of capacity building and training for the
Nigerian motion picture industry.
This was disclosed by the Regional Head of the Bank, Ahmad Umar Abdullahi
when he led other management staff of the Bank on a courtesy visit to the
Corporation headquarters in Jos. According to Abdullahi, he was at the Corporation
to explore ways in which Unity Bank can partner the NFC to move the motion
picture industry to greater heights.
Receiving the Regional Head and other management staff of the Bank, Afolabi
Adesanya, the Corporation's Managing Director said that indeed time for the
Nations financial Institutions to rise up to the challenges and invest in
the motion picture industry has come.
Adesanya who described the motion picture industry as a creative economy,
said the great investment opportunities within the sector were yet to be exploited.
He thanked the Banks Regional Head for the visit, assuring that the Corporation
will continue to open its doors to individuals and corporate organizations
who wish to partner and contribute to the development of the film sector,
which is contributing immensely to the GDP of the nations economy.
Ahmad who was accompanied by Stephen Unchendu, the Banks Business Manager,
Jos, and David Gode Dabang of the Public Sector department of the Bank later
undertook a facility tour of some of the completed and ongoing construction
projects at the National Film Institute which includes the 300 terrace auditorium,
the photo laboratory complex, three - in- one Cyber café/Bookshop and
Canteen, the New administrative block, and the Sound Stage.
